Heaven, Earth, and Humanity embody the essence of “Tian Ren He Yi 天人合一” (The Unity of Heaven and Man), a cornerstone of Eastern philosophical understanding of the universe.
At YIN, we draw from this traditional perspective on the relationship between Heaven, Earth, and Humanity, infusing the natural order of the cosmos and dialectical thinking into our brand’s design language and visual expressions.
"YIN" Rhyming Chinese Naming System
In Chinese, each pronunciation carries four tones (ā, á, ǎ, à), giving rise to hundreds of distinct characters with similar sounds.
Each of our collection has a unique name that has the similar pronunciation with the brand name YIN. Each collection is born with a homophone that tells a unique story.
Each character, on its own, can arouse a sensational scenery that associate the wearer with the design, visual and copy of this collection. Sometimes the profound cultural implication of Chinese characters helps us to discovery concepts we want to capture in design. Sometimes it works the other way around.
