‘The Dao gives birth to One; One gives birth to Two; Two gives birth to Three; and Three gives birth to all things.’ （道生一，一生二，二生三，三生万物）

This line from the Dao De Jing 《道德经》expresses the Daoist philosophy of creation and the interconnectedness of all things in the universe.

We named this collection ‘一’ (interpreted as ‘One’) because one represents both the beginning and the end, ultimate simplicity and complexity.

Although this wisdom spans thousands of years, its essence still guides and inspires us today.
